Today, we take a moment to reflect on the cherished memories of a dear soul, Clarence Hannon, whose peaceful demeanor during our last moments together continues to provide solace. As we remember Clarence, we are motivated by a heartfelt promise to fight for change in the battle against colorectal cancer.
The Urgency of Awareness and Screening
Colorectal cancer remains a devastating disease, yet it is 95% preventable with proper awareness and regular screening. Sharon Rivera Sanchez, a TNBC survivor and Clarence’s caregiver, she made a personal promise to advocate for increased awareness and prevention, and that promise stands resolute.
Advocating for Change
This Saturday, we will participate in a parade with a clear and powerful message: “Get your butt checked!” The aim is to encourage everyone to prioritize their health and undergo essential screenings. No one should have to endure the pain and suffering that Clarence and so many others have faced.
A Tribute to Clarence
Recently, we held a balloon release in Clarence’s honor. As one balloon got caught in a tree, it served as a poignant reminder that his spirit continues to live on in our hearts. This act of remembrance fuels our determination to advocate for continued screening and prevention efforts.
Continuing the Fight
Driven by the memory of Clarence, we remain committed to raising awareness and promoting colorectal cancer prevention for everyone. Clarence, you are forever in our hearts, and we love you always.
